What our clients have to say

I found Alex Ewart when a teammate on my masters swim team shared an article about shoulder problems in swimmers and how to manage them written by Alex. The article was helpful and I emailed Alex and he was so responsive. We have been working together for 6 weeks and the results are really satisfying. He is available to communicate along the way and he understands swimmers and athletes in general. I’m 56, very active, and I’ve had lots of physical therapy and coaching over the years (unfortunately) and Alex is one of the best; I’m glad I found him (fortunately).

Alex made this whole experience so easy he’s very intelligent and knows his field well he takes the time to make sure you understand what to do and what’s best for you and we had some laughs along the way. I can’t say enough nice this things about them!! 10/10 recommend

Alex helped my daughter, who is a swimmer, through her shoulder surgery and the recovery process. He went above and beyond every step of the way with both the physical and mental aspects of recovery. He established an excellent program for her that he adapted regularly to meet her changing needs. Alex is a fellow swimmer and having him involved in the recovery process has been key to my daughter’s return to the pool. He had excellent tips for stroke and breathing techniques and yardage goals to set her up for success.

If you are an athlete or have a physically intensive job, and you don’t go to Alex, you are making a huge mistake. That dude works miracles. I’m better than before my injury. Caveat: he’s gonna make you work; do not think it’s gonna be easy. This is the way.

About The Swimming PT

Alex started The Swimming PT  because he saw the need to for swimmers and coaches to learn more about swimming related injuries and how come back from them.

Many swimmers cannot do well in a traditional physical therapy clinic. Why? Because swimmers are unique and there performance demands are unlike any other sport. Too many times a swimmer gets physical therapy but does not get any better.

The Swimming PT was made to help swimmers all around the world get the information they need to get out of pain and improve their performance.

About Alex:

Alex is a strength coach, physical therapist, former collegiate swimmer, and giant swimming nerd that lives in Baltimore, Maryland. After Alex finished swimming at Boston University, he knew he had to stay involved with swimming. So, when Alex started physical therapy school, he started coaching club swimming on the side. While he was learning a lot in PT school, what he was learning was not applicable to swimming. Swimming is a unique sport (what other sport has their athletes rotate their shoulders 2,500 times a practice?) and has unique performance demands. As a result, a lot of information and research on sports performance and injury prevention on the internet does not apply to the sport of swimming. This is why Alex made the Swimming PT, to help give swimmers latest science and practical applications to enhance their performance.
